Jeffrey Stuart, MD, MBA

Jeff practices anesthesia as Medical Director for the Washington Outpatient Surgery Center in the San Francisco Bay Area. He is responsible for clinical operations of this multi-specialty surgery center, and additionally promotes patient safety working as a surveyor for AAAHC, a leading accrediting body for ambulatory care, which accredits over 6,000 facilities nationwide. Additionally, Jeff serves as a member of the Board of Managers, W.O.S.C. LLC, an investor board overseeing facility operations. Jeff completed his undergraduate studies at Stanford University, attended the University of Southern California for medical school and earned an MBA from the Wharton School.

Emil Engels, MD, MBA

Emil is a cardiac anesthesiologist at Fairfax Anesthesiology Associates and a Division Medical Officer with Mednax.  He is the President for the Virginia Society of Anesthesiologists and a member of the Board of Directors for the American Society of Anesthesiologists.  Emil is an Assistant Professor at VCU Medical School, attended medical school at Yale, and completed Anesthesia residency and fellowship at Harvard (Brigham and Womens Hospital). Emil earned an MBA through the University of Tennessee, Knoxville physician MBA program.

Alex Kao, MD

Alex is President and Assistant Medical Director for East Bay Anesthesiology Medical Group in Berkeley, California. Alex leads a group of over thirty physician anesthesiologists in a busy community practice with diverse mix of surgical specialties and anesthetics. He completed his residency in Anesthesiology at UC San Francisco, attended Yale for medical school, and completed his undergraduate studies at Cornell University.

Ari Weintraub, MD

Ari is a pediatric anesthesiologist at CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia), and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology & Critical Care, Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Sinai Hospital after graduating from University of Maryland School of Medicine. Ari holds a BA in Talmudic Studies from Ner Israel Rabbinical College.

Corey Nelson, MD

Corey is an Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care at UC Irvine. He also serves as the Director of Simulation for Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care. Corey is a graduate of Princeton University, with a degree in East Asian Studies, and Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University.

David Kaczka, MD, PhD

David currently serves as Associate Professor of Anesthesia, Biomedical Engineering and Radiology with the University of Iowa, where he focusses his research on on quantifying mechanical heterogeneity in diseases of the respiratory system, such as asthma, COPD, and acute lung injury He also serves as CEO of OscillaVent, Inc. David holds a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University and an MD, MS and BS from Boston University School of Medicine and College of Engineering, respectively. He completed a residency in anesthesiology, obstetrical anesthesiology and critical care medicine at John Hopkins University.

Kirk Lalwani, MD, MCR

Kirk is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pediatrics at Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon. He is also president-elect for the Society for Pediatric Anesthesiology, Vice-Chair of Faculty Development with OHSU and Director for the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship Program at OHSU. His clinical research focusses pediatric anesthesiology and pediatric sedation. Kirk obtained his Master of Clinical Research from OHSU, and holds an MB and BS in Medicine from St. John’s National Academy of Medical Sciences.

Matthew Hunter, MD

Matthew specializes in anesthesiology, practicing with Emory University Health System. He serves as director of Anesthesiology Information Systems at Grady, and is an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at Emory University School of Medicine. Matthew earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine, interning at the Temple University Hospital.

Thomas Anthony Anderson, MD, PhD

Tony is an anesthesiology faculty member at Massachusetts General Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School. He also works with Shriner’s Hospital for Children in Boston. Tony received his medical degree from University of Michigan Medical School received and his PhD from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

John Donovan, MD, MBA

John practices anesthesia with East Bay Anesthesiology Medical Group in Berkeley, California and is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Anesthesia at the University of California, San Francisco. John served as Executive Director of Business development for Anesiva and has worked with several early stage medical device companies. John completed his anesthesia training at the University of California, San Francisco and earned an MBA from the Haas School of Business.
